“Challenges and Chances of Peace Communication in Europe”

"Komunikacijsko ratovanje u vrijeme ruskog rata u Ukrajini" naziv je konferencije koja je okupila sedamdesetak novinara, znastvenika i studenata kako bi na trodnevnom okupljanju u organizaciji Zaklade Hannsa Seidela i SEEMO istražili utjecaj lažnih vijesti i dezinformacija na društvo i politiku te raspravljali o strategijama za borbu protiv dezinformacija.

D E C L A R A T IO N

We, participants of the I Istria Media Days who have discussed “Challenges and Chances of Peace Communication in Europe” from October 15^th till October 18^th 2023 in Vrsar, Croatia;
‍

Acknowledging the blurring boundaries and effects of globalization in the media sphere;
Reaffirming the need of societies to get trustful information and knowledge;


Recognising the urgency to develop and implement strategies to combat disinformation, mediama nipulation and propaganda;

DO HEREBY AGREE:
‍
1.      To promote the profession of journalists as independent and professional voices;
2.      To enhance media education both in the sense of media literacy and responsible journalism;
3.      To further catalyse the importance of fact-checking;
4.      To raise awareness of media owners and publishers to respect professional standards and ethics in the newsrooms;
5.      To call on our partners beyond the participants of the Conference to cooperate in the implementation of this Declaration.
